These guys put together a really nice campaign for OAKnyc and ask me to do the Sound Design for it. It came out just in time for Halloween. It is a black marriage of supreme forces IRL. PURE SPOOKMASTERS. I can’t tell you how much i dug this project.

“Loose Grip” is a short by local Chicago director Chris Davis. Four guys go out for a normal round of golf, except that one of them has some wavering suspicions about his wife’s fidelity after he stumbles upon an instant message conversation.
This short is packed with fast comedy, a fun cast, and tons of “one-liners”; not to mention a little gore. I had the pleasure of composing some music on this piece and I truly enjoy the result. Really funny stuff. Favorite line in the film…”I’m gonna dance all over your cardboard”

The New Adventures of Mickey Spillane's Mick Hammer
Nominated for an Audie Award, Matt Sauro, now of BAM Studios, and I completed this remake of classic gumshoe pulp novel star Mike Hammer as Played by Stacy Keech.
Mickey Spillane’s books are pulp at its finest. Complete with guns, femme fatales, and city life.

The back to back stories are “Oil and Water” and “Dangerous Days”. This set comes on a preloaded digital player.

AMAZON REVIEW 5 stars
“Next to Sherlock Holmes, perhaps the most popular fictional detective is the late Mickey Spillane’s Mike Hammer, a two-fisted guy who never goes anywhere without his faith Betsy (a snub nosed revolver). Of all the actors who have portrayed the Mike Hammer character in film or television, none were more definitive in the role than Stacy Keach. In this superbly recorded audio theater production, Stacy reprises his role along with a stellar cast in two Mike Hammer adventures, ‘Oil and Water’ and ‘Dangerous Days’. Replete with music and sound effects, both stories are classic private eye adventures with plot twists and turns that keep the listener glued to these two stories as they unfold. Offering fully and expertly dramatized stories that will thrill and entertain dedicated mystery buffs, “Mike Hammer”, with a total running time of 3 hours on 3 compact discs, is very highly recommended for personal and community library audio book collections.”

Having the entire Bible on CDs is very convenient for drive-time or around the house while doing chores, just listening or for actual Bible Study. The reading is from the NEW KING JAMES VERSION. The dramatizations bring deeper dimensions to the Bible learning experience for any age group. For the most part the actor’s voices seem to suit the characters nicely. The familiar stories, such as The Creation, The Flood, David & Goliath, Abraham, Parting the Red Sea, the Birth of Christ, the Birth of the Church at Penticost, the stoning of Stephen and all the others, are all very well done and hold the interest. The Psalms are beautifully executed with the use of mixed voices. The Prophets are artistically punctuated. The first chapter of Ezekiel and portions of Revelations transport one to the throne room of God. Jim Caviezel’s voice perfectly portrays the tenderness and love of the Lord Jesus Christ. All this is highlighted by a magnificent and moving original musical score. The 2 yrs and immense talent of the 500 actors and producers that went into the production of this version of the world’s most beloved Book is very evident. It does honor to the original AUTHOR of the text- Who Himself IS “THE Living WORD OF PROMISE”.
The set of 79 CDs also includes a handy small traveling case for transporting a few CD discs a time.
We highly recommend this as a gift for yourself or others <><Posted on November 3, 2009

I’m astounded by people who want to ‘know’ the universe when it’s hard enough to find your way around Chinatown.

Max's Kansas City
Designed an ambient audio build for the splash page of arguably one of the more culturally significant hang outs in America. Max’s Kansas City. Nice page layout and such a interesting place.

“Before legends like Blondie, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Bruce Springsteen played to crowds of thousands, they played in Mickey Ruskin’s dingy living room on Park Ave South in Manhattan, also known as Max’s Kansas City.
“At no other time in history has there been such an important collision of art, music and fashion than Max’s Kansas City in the 1960s, 70s, and early 80s. The great unknown became simply, The Great.
During its heyday, spending time at Max’s Kansas City was the equivalent of getting a graduate art school education.
It was a place when you could stare at Andy Warhol, argue sculpture with John Chamberlain, piss off William S. Burroughs and get a record deal from Clive Davis just by showing up on a Tuesday night.
Every musician, it seemed, was also an artist, every artist a filmmaker and every filmmaker was in a band.
The synergy of art, music and fashion at Max’s Kansas City produced an unparalleled number of influential collaborations exactly when the world was ready to embrace visionary creative leadership.`

One thing that really appeals to me is this idea of music being a living thing that has an evolution that, in a way, enables the artist to sell a process rather than a piece of product.

So, I made this song the other day in hopes that i can capitalize on a BRAND NEW genre of music. Its called “zombie club”. Elements include, spooky intro, deep, almost falling out, of the pocket back-beat and, something that is easy to rock back an forth to. Lets be honest, when everyones been eaten off and your stuck roaming the planet half dead, whats left to do but dance.
